Monitoring Sites GBSSCKGEF GMS JEF Mt. Gyebangsan (GBS)
- Mt. Gyebangsan / Gangwon-do Province, Republic of Korea
- 37° 44'N, 128° 29'E, 900 - 1577m, 440 ha
 

GBS is located in Gangwon province which is characterized by rugged
and elevated mountainous terrain and steep slopes. 
This site belongs to cool temperate forest zone. 
Annual mean temperature is 9.2℃ and annual precipitation is about 1,268mm.  1ha permanent plot was established in 1994 and forest survey is executed every 5 years with the same manner with other LTER sites. 
Major dominant tree species are composed of Quercus mongolica, Acer pseudo-sieboldianum, Tilia amurensis, Betula schmidtii, Pinus densiflora, Magnolia seiboldii, Kalopanax septemlobus.  Number of trees per hectare over 2cm in DBH were 2,902 and the basal area is about 38.09㎡.
